About LKMco
We believe society should ensure all young people receive the support they need to make a fulfilling transition to adulthood. We work towards this belief by articulating a vision for a society which does so, inspiring a desire to pursue it and enabling organisations to achieve it.
We work across the education, youth and policy sectors. We train and develop teachers, support school improvement and help organisations to develop youth projects. We then carry out rigorous academic and policy research about the issues experience tells us matter.
LKMco has:
-
Led a broad partnership of national charities as interim national program manager for a £5 million financial capability program targeting 100,000 NEET young people through innovative peer education. Designed a national volunteering program for the programe sponsor's staff.
- Carried out major mixed qual/quant research projects (on school governance for Teach First and on teaching unions for edapt)
- Helped City Gateway achieve the first "Hear By Right Gold Award" in the country and Outstanding in every category in their first Ofsted inspection. 92% of staff surveyed considered LKMco's help a significant factor in achieving these judgements.
- Provided training and mentoring that led to "measurable improvements in teaching and learning" and helped a teacher secure Advanced Skills Teacher status in just a few months.
- Developed a new approach to training on diversity for Canterbury Christchurch University’s Outstanding Graduate and Registered Teacher Training Programme.
- Published "The 6 Predictable Failures of Free Schools... and how to avoid them" a highly acclaimed short book covered on the front page of the The Times Educational Supplement and the leader column of Guardian Education.
